    Employed by the British army during the Zulu war in Africa, as chief packer, at a salary of twenty dollars a day.

    Any information on this chap would greatly appreciated!

    Hi All,
    A Christopher K. Gilson born 1843 marries Alice Wallis in Riley Kansas 29 Nov 1882. Riley is the nearest town to Fort Riley Kansas from where Gen George Custer started his winter Campaign.
    Christopher K, possibly dies during the War with Spain 1896, pension record dated 1900.
