Rorke's Drift A New Perspective by Neil Thornton

I'm thinking of adding this to my library. Has anyone read it and if so could I please ask if you would be so kind as to let me know what you think of it.

Thank you for the link, unfortunately all the comments are before the book was due for sale so no reviews. Having said that I think it's going to be a good read and the new light Neil throws at it certainly makes me want to give it a go.

Hi David68, i bought this and i remember how much i looked
forward to reading it, it certainly did not disappoint in any way.
meticulously researched and presented in a no nonsense style,
it goes into the defence in minute detail.. one for the library
without a doubt in my humble opinion. cheer's xhosa2000

That's great, thank you for taking the time to let me know. I had pretty much made up my mind to buy it but your comments have confirmed that for me.

Hi David68.
In my opinion the book in the definitive account of the action at Rorke's Drift. As Xhosa says it is meticulously researched and noted and very readable. As you say, add it to your library because there is much more to AZW than Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana.

That's great, thank you for letting me know. I am 100% going to buy this.

On the strength of this topic I’ve just bought the book to read (on kindle via iPad) and agree it offers some interesting new ideas and detail I haven’t seen before. A very good read although the only downside is that the various maps of the hospital were too small to follow the movements of the defenders / names. Does anyone know how to view them in a readable format?

Some interesting new research alone makes it an invaluable addition to any AZW Library . I also enjoyed the hospital art work and other pieces completed by Neil's Father from memory ?
