Evening everyone,
If at all possible I was hoping to gain information around 1038 richard marsh, he was entitled to the South africa medal with clasp 1887-8-9 I was just hoping someone could help tell me about his army career please if this was possible? He was in the 88th foot

Enlisted 88th Foot aged 19 at Aston under Lyne 6 Nov 76. Discharged from the Colours 12.5.83. To Reserve 9.11.88. Served Cape 16.9.77-14.8.79; India 13.3.80-13.2.83

Thanks for this Kenny. I could not read some of what I had found. Was he entitled to any other medals? I thought I had found him in the Royal defence corps number 15144 but I'm not sure.if this is him.

You are correct - no other medals other than South Africa 1877-8-9. Enlisted in 6th Bn Manchester Regt in WW1 19.4.15 @ age 56. Posted to RDC Corps 20.12.16. Discharged 17.11.17. All home service - various numbers 1427/211082/15144. Wife Diana? @ 81 Kynder St, Denton. Born 1.1.1857. You will find him on the 1939 Census @ Ancestry at 81 Kynder St. Widow? Daughter? Died 1945?
