Who led the Naval Brigade at Gingindlovu ?

Good day everyone,

I'm in dire need of your knowledge for my modelling project, As the title of this topic says, I'm wondering who led the naval Brigade at the Battle of Gingindlovu.

My guess would be John Brackenbury of the Shah, because he led the biggest of the three brigades, and was Higher ranking officer than Lt Kingscote of the Tenedos who was here in the first place. But It's only a guess, and in my Ofsprey books I haven't found any info on that.

Do you have any idea ?

You are correct. It was Commander John Brackenbury of HMS Shah who was in command of the Naval Brigade at Gingindlovu. Commodore Frederick Richards was also there but did not take command. He attached himself to Lord Chelmsford staff as an observer.

Richards was with the HMS Boadicea, If I'm not mistaken ?

You are correct again. Frederick Richards was Commodore aboard HMS Boadicea.
