| Intreguing. So her family harboured the remants of the survivors from RD!! I wonder if she means iSandlwana? Or as she says perhaps it is all untrue as looking at her DOB she would have been coming up to two years old at the time of the battle. Reading through'The Turbulant Frontier-Biggarsberg and Buffalo at the Crossroads' by Sheila Henderson I can't find any trace of a family called Kennedy [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Gloucestershire Echo - Friday 13 September 1940 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Cheltenham Chronicle - Saturday 14 September 1940 And the funeral details [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Cheltenham Chronicle - Saturday 21 September 1940 |

| Kate,
Take a look at 1820 Settlers site: https://www.1820settlers.com/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I74717&tree=master
Given her mother’s death in 1879 took place in Ladysmith, it might be worth examining there. Obviously those who fought at both iSandlwana & Rorke’s Drift who were suffering from various ailments and ills were treated at Ladysmith.

| Excellent work John. Suddenly her story looks a little more plausible. |
