Absence of Vereker from Snook's Book

I am just curious, is there any particular reason that there is no mention of Vereker in HOW MEN CAN DIE BETTER?

I know his focus is on regimental personnel, but it still seems an odd omission

The Honourable Standish William Prendergast Vereker doesn’t really play a prominent role in the defeat at iSandlwana, and is best remembered for surrendering a horse to a N.N.H. trooper who claimed the horse to be his.

For what reason do you believe Vereker deserves more attention?

JY,

I dont think he deserves any kind of prominent attention in light of his minimal role in the battle. However, I did think it was interesting or more precisely curious that mention of him was absent from the book. Its possible I could have missed mention of him in passing in a paragraph somewhere, but I didn't think so. I guess its possible that since he was not a regular, Lt Col Snook did not see any need to mention him, but I was interested to see if there was any other reason he may have been wholly omitted from the accounting.

The reason is because Snook was predominantly concerned with his beloved regiment, its officers and men. He wanted to tell it from their point of view. Vereker didn't feature in that.
