| Kate,
The illustration that we used on dust jacket of Victoria’s Harvest was reproduced as a postcard in Japan. I have one in the collection.

| John,
As you know, there are a number of items relating to this regimental link in the Brecon museum collection. Of course, 2 SWB found themselves posted to China in November 1912 and then at the outbreak of WW1 with the help of Japanese attacked the German garrison at Tsingtao (a regimental battle honour). The item referred to in the 1912 newspaper article is on silk, now a bit fragile, and sadly now not on display. |

| Kenny,
I appreciate this question does not relate to the Zulu War.
Is there any truth in the rumour that Arthur Askey was a Drummer in the South Wales Borderers in China in 1914?
Thanks in anticipation,

| John,
You are close - one foot out - 23rd.
The two other significant links with China are (1) Dudley Johnson later VC and (2) John Bradstock (MC in China) who later was in charge of the party which recovered Britain's Unknown Warrior. |
