Zero tolerance to harassment and bullying. |
Due to recent events on this forum, we have now imposed a zero tolerance to harassment and bullying. All reports will be treated seriously, and will lead to a permanent ban of both membership and IP address.
Any member blatantly corresponding in a deliberate and provoking manner will be removed from the forum as quickly as possible after the event.
If any members are being harassed behind the scenes PM facility by any member/s here at 1879zuluwar.com please do not hesitate to forward the offending text.
We are all here to communicate and enjoy the various discussions and information on the Anglo Zulu War of 1879. Opinions will vary, you will agree and disagree with one another, we will have debates, and so it goes.
There is no excuse for harassment or bullying of anyone by another person on this site.

| hi all . Would need to win the lottery for this one , 7,500 seems a good deal , my guess it will be more. If I remember rightly I think Neil Apinshaw said he had an Isandlwana casualty medal or Mons 14 . I know somebody on the forum has one . Unfortunately not me . cheers 90th. |

| I've got *************...and soon to have a ********** man also killed at Isandlwana, but this chap died with Pope to the right of the camp.
I will post details when the medal has arrived.

This is what is listed with his medal
24th Foot The South Wales Borderers South Africa Zulu Isandhlwana Casualty Medal.. A rare example, awarded to 1267 Pte J. Wilson 1/24th Foot . Bearing the clasp 1877-8-9 . Near VGC. Private John Wilson joined the 1st Bn of the 24th Foot on the 12th June 1866 at the age of 17. He saw service in Malta and Gibraltar, before embarking for South Africa during December 1874. It was here that the Regiment was garrisoned until the the start of the Zulu War. He had reengaged at Cape Town during October 1876 and the last Regimental Muster Roll available for him is dated September 1878 showing him serving at King William s Town in the Cape. He is confirmed as being Killed in Action on the 22nd January 1879 at the action at Isandhlwana. |
