Zulu War 1879, Colony of Natal, Exempted from Native Law Medal

I have come across this medal and does anyone have any further information on it?

This medal was instituted by the Colony of Natal after the passing of Law 28 in 1865 whereby certain natives could be exempted from native law. Those awarded in 1879 largely rewarded natives who had remained loyal to Britain during the Zulu War.

Very interesting , I haven"t heard of or seen one before , they may also be an interesting item ( along with the pen )
to be put up by an Auction House , I wouldnt think there would be many that have survived to this day. Mons14 or maybe
one of our Sth African Members may be able to shed more light on this award . Any information would be appreciated .

This Medal was sold at an Auction House on the 2nd September 2002 for £420.00
