Notice yesterday while watching Zulu Dawn. The part where the Zulu gets the British armies attention by firing his weapon, then shouts, “ Why have you come to the Land of the Zulu”. The weapon he’s firing is a M.H.

Could the zulus could have aquired a small amount of MHs from traders, thats how they got most of their guns.

Your right, I never noticed that before. Idea

Something I notice many years ago. VEREKER - 2nd Natal Native Contingent, Why is he portrayed? As assisting Melville & Coghill. And why doe’s Durnford tell him to leave just before his last stand.

hi joe.
I doubt very much if any zulu's would have been armed with the M.H at the time of the invasion , for the reason it was the
most modern infantry weapon at the time and I dont see how traders would have come by them . Also no mention of
any M.H.'s being confiscated or found after the skirmish at Sihayo's Kraal early January. One would think if any zulu's
had a M.H it would have been one of the main iNdunas possibly Dabulamanzi who had been taught how to shoot by
John Dunn who was his friend and Dabulamanzi by all reports was a decent shot .
cheers 90th.
