| Gent's any information on this chap would be appreciated by "Shaun James Francis" I have sent Shaun the link to the image posted earlier.
"Hi Peter
I am a direct descendant of James Theophilus Francis. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how you came across this article? I am trying to piece my family history together. My great grandfather was Basil Gerald Francis, he was the son of James Theophilus Francis. If you have any other information I would really appreciate it.
Kind regards Shaun James Francis"

| Hi All, Regarding this gentleman it would appear, based on the Medal Roll, that he served as a Private in Southey's Rangers and therefore did not participate in the Zulu War but in the campaign against Sekukuni for which he received the medal for South Africa 1879 with clasp.
Regards
Phill. |

| Perhaps this chap, should be moved to " did they or didn't they serve in the Zulu War" until absolute confirmation can be established. |

| Hi All James Theo Francis died 26 Feb 1933 in Ladysmith, there is a photograph of his wife's gravestone that mentions him, Ladysmith Main Cemetery. It is on the eGGsa gravestones site of South Africa. Rai Keynshamlighthorse. |
