As you know I’m soaking up the sunbeams in Cornwall. I will be visiting Chards grave on my way back to Kent. In the mean time does anyone know of any other Zulu war graves in Cornwall. I’m staying in the
St Ives area. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Pete

Billy i will sent you the password and account details nextweek on my return, in order for you to up-load your photos.

Paid a visit to St Winnow’s. to see the memorial window dedicated to Melvill and Coghill. A wonderful quite solitary place. The grave yard is being looked after, but it looks a lot of work for one man, who was happily working away with his mower.

As well as the window and brass plaque, there is an array of interesting photos, and a written account of their actions. I’m certainly glad that I paid a visit. St Winnow was about 22 Miles from where I’m staying.

Hi Pete
I know this is very late, but when you are next in Cornwall, there is plenty for you to have a look at. Apart from Melvill, I can think of another 7. This little lot will have you running all over Cornwall.

Francis George Eyre, Midshipman HMS Boadicea, Grave at St Stephen's Parish Churchyard, Saltah, Cornwall.

Charles John Coar, Senoir Chaplian, Grave & Memorial Window at St Ive Parish Church, St Ive, Cornwall.

James Steward Douglas, Lieutenant Royal Artillery, Grave at Portscatho Parish Church, Portscatho, Cornwall.

Sir William Penn Symons, 24th Regiment, Stained Glass Window and Plaque at Botus Fleming Parish Church, Cornwall and a Memorial Obeslisk at Victoria Gardens, Saltash, Cornwall

Edmund Leopold Pelly-Clarke, Captain 103rd Regiment, Memorial Plaque at Mawgan-in-Meneage Parish Church, Mawgan-in-Meneage, Cornwall.

Charles Edward Le Mesurier Cherry, Captain 32nd Regiment, Listed on the Egyptain Campaign Memorial, St Petrock's Church, Bodmin, Cornwall.

Henry Sparke Stabb, Major 32nd Regiment, Memorial Window, St Petrock's Church, Bodmin, Cornwall.

All the above took part in the Zulu War.
