He doesn't want to let him suffer at the hands of the Zulu's and let's face it, he came across as a bit of a simpleton! Not quite switched on.
Or perhaps Bob didn't like being spoken to like that!

i think its good that they left it out of the movie i know the intention to show he didnt want him to suffer, but still he would come across as a bit of a psycho and change the view of him

Damn right - the only person in movie history who could play a union leader just as well as he could play cochise/ geronimo
Just a real man - no over the top acting.. no ego... lots of humility and compassion, but knew when to draw the line.
A real man
The general society today are the opposites of the james masons/ john gielguds/ jeff chandlers/ burt lancasters / peter cushings etc

Ha ha ha , nice one Pete, nothing like a bit of modesty mate
There were some darn good actors in the past, they didn't crave all the limelight that some of this lot get these days.
Just take a look at Conrad Veidt (Jaffar in The Thief of Bagdad), he was a German who hated the nazis and all that they stood for. He deliberately married a Jewish lady, said that he was also a Jew (although he wasn't), he came to Britain and later became a British citizen, he donated lots of his wealth to the British war effort to help defeat the Nazis, he played the spy in black (an anti German film), he was well respected by those who knew him, he helped June Duprez get over her nervousness during the filming of The Thief of Bagdad, he did lots of good things and helped many people, but yet hardly gets any recognition. Most of this lot today would demand recognition even if they had only done a quarter of what Conrad Veidt had done, 'Modern Times' Paah!
