| I've just received notification form the stone masons that they should be ready to lay a new stone on Alan's burial plot in memory of his wife Nora in the next week or two. Its taken over a year and a half to get this far, despite having full support from both the Gardner and Blyth family. A full faculty was required. The first application was lost, the second refused due to the wording (apparently the Zulu war is not a politically correct conflict to be remembered) but the third one was granted. The memorial will be to his remarkable wife Nora Beatrice Gardner (nee Blyth) who has never had a stone but will contain Alan's details as well as mentioning his service in South Africa. The words 'Isandlwana, Hlobane and Kambula' will all be on there and will tie in his headstone with the campaign. I'll keep you updated. Kate |

| Kate,
Well done!
Please keep me in the loop and I will endeavour to have some Zulu representatives present when it goes ahead.
