| Some random questions: Start easily 1. When did the 3rd Column break camp at the Buffalo. 2. Who was Private Dillon 3. Where did Trooper Dixon NMR die? 4. Who won the VC at Hlobane? 5. Who said, "We stood up face to face, white men and black, blazed away at each over till......." 6. How much was Otto Witt paid in damages, carefull with this one. 7. "I hope he will leave my defences alone this time." Who said this about whom? 8. Who killed George Shepstone? Hopefully our silent majority will have a go. |

| I won't answer all the questions but a little hint for those who have , there are multiple V.C's awarded at Hlobane , not Buller alone . Will answer Quest 4 think this is a toughie ! . Dixon Drowned in the Buffalo River while he and some of his Unit were bathing , not sure of the date , but it was after the Skirmish at Sihayo's Kraal ? . Dixon couldn't swim , from memory his body was never found . 90th |

| Ok so I got #7 right - I must know more about Queen Victoria and John Brown than the Zulu War.
Gary: I know there were multiple VCs at Hlobane but I couldn't be bothered to think of the other 4.....I was hoping for 0.2 of a point
Cheers

24th 3/8 90th Hot as usual mate I demand a recount.......I got the first one right.....I should have .25 of a point for Buller (besides when you said "who'" I thought it was name anyone from the 3 or 4 - you did not say name them all) and finally I should get something for 8 because even though I didn't remember the guys name - I knew who his brother was....... So that's 2.25 points - lets round it up to 3........ |

| Hi Frank Yes Melbourne is well out of the fire danger , it's in New South Wales and Queensland , seems several have been deliberately lit , although they've had some hot weather , we down in Victoria have had very mild weather . One of the guys who's coming in May can't be there before very late May , so I've moved my trip to coincide with that , now looking at being at Isandlwana at the start of June , will visit some other places before then for a few days . 90th |
