There is a private 1436 J Knott 58th Regiment no clasp

Hi All.
James Knott born circa 1849 Liverpool. enlisted 16 March 1867 aged 18, to 58th Regt nO.1436, to S Africa 26 Feb 1879 on the ship Russia, arrived Natal 14 April 1879, served Zulu and First Boer Wars, to UK 14 Sept 1885, discharged at Gosport 10 April 1888 21yrs.
1901 Census gives him as a Dock Labourer Liverpool.
On the CWGC site Walter's parents are John and Martha Newton Heath.
A, John Knott b.1848 dies Dec Qtr 1915 Ashton District [includes Newton] Manchester.
Many families use john and James as the same. Including my own.
