We are all here to communicate and enjoy the various discussions and information on the Anglo Zulu War of 1879. Opinions will vary, you will agree and disagree with one another, we will have debates, and so it goes.

| Hi All, William Davies, born LLanelly, Brynmaur, Breckonshire, 1856. Attested 6 Feb 1877 at Brecon age 21. To 25/1164 HQ, to 2/24th to Cape 1 Feb 1878, to 12 Jan 1880. On Eastern Frontier 10 March 1878, Natal 6 Aug 1878, in Hospital Utrecht 31 Aug 1879. To India, in Secunderbhad 12 Sept 1881, back to UK Kilkenny Ireland 7 Nov 1884. Discharged 8 Feb 1889, served 12 years. Rai Keynshamlighthorse. |

To Cape aboard HMS Himalaya 10 March, sailed 11 March 1877, arrived Cape 14 April 1877, to Natal 19 Aug 1877, to Middleburg 25 Aug 1878, Sekukuni Campaign 15 July 1879, to 11 may 1880. served Perak and Zulu Sekukuni Wars. LSGC medal 1888. Discharged 1890 21 yrs. Married Ellen Jane Killen Belfast 31 Oct 1870. William Davies, Ex Militia, Attested 1 Jan 1876, age 23 born Mortlake Surrey, to ASCorps No.1255 Transport, Discharged at Woolwich 7 Jan 1887, 11yrs. Intended Resident, Mrs Davies Lombard Market, York Road, Battersea. [only 5 mins from where i use to live]. William Davies, Attested 8 Jan 1876 age 19, born 1857 LLantarnum Cwmbran, Monmouthshire, to 25/833 2/24th, to S Africa 1 feb 1878, Eastern Frontier 10 March 1878, Natal 6 Aug 1878, to India 12 Jan 1880, Burma 9 May 1886 to 12 Dec 1888, discharged at Gosport, as Sgt 22 Dec 1888. served Zulu War, his Burma Campaign and Burma medal entries have been crossed out in red with Reg C against them.
