Natal Witness Thursday 5th February 1880

Inspector Mansell of the Natal Mounted Police has gone up to Isnadhlwana to examine the country and report thereon. His topographical knowldge will enable him to do this thoroughly. It is to be hoped the account will be published for general information.

Seems the trip was postponed due to heavy rain Mr W H Thorne of the Theatre Royal is due to go to make sketches.

Natal Witness 11th March 1880
Isandhlwana- The Rev G. Ritchie Military Chaplain proceeds at once to the field of Isnadhlwana to hold a burial service there. Major Ogilvie will accompany the reverend gentleman. They travel by mule wagon and will probably be absent from 12 to 14 days. The srevices at the drill shed will be conducted during the chaplains absence by the Rev. Cannon Deeds.

Natal Witness 27th March 1880
The Rev G St Richie has returned to the city from Isandhlwana and conducted the services at the drill shed yesterday.
