regimental markings on MH Rifles

Subject: regimental markings on MH Rifles Sat Jul 29, 2023 12:15 pm

I have some questions about regimental markings ,
would all the rifles issued from the regimental stores have been marked ?
would replacements sent out to the troops on campaign be marked or would they be marked to the regiment once they reached the individual units ? or not marked at all ?

Yes, Julian is correct, Neil is the man for this question, brilliant knowledge about the Martini.

The one that I got from Neil has got a lot of different markings on it, but I cannot be sure what they are all for or what they all mean, and some of the markings on the woodwork are very hard to make out.

When I bought it from Neil, I maybe should have asked him at the time what the marking meant, but it never occurred to me back then, I was just so keen to obtain a Martini.

I could have answered your questions direct but not with the detail Neil can provide and not with any guarantee that I could answer correctly any follow-up questions that would naturally arise. Neil is the man to get to the heart of the matter.

Thanks Julian , I will drop Neil a message , seems Neil has supplied an MH to Mr Cooper , if this is something he does on a regular basis I can’t think of anyone better to but one from
