| Hi guys, I decided to draw a series of Isandlwana images that would feature things that may not have been done in the past. The first on my list is Capt. Younghusband 1/24th and his final charge. Sorry about the copyright notice. I added an eclipse of the sun, as I've never seen it shown in an illustration and thought it might be a good idea. Anyway hope you enjoy. mons [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| mons14. Thanks for posting your excellent sketch I think this is the first sketch that’s ever been done showing Younghusbands courageous charge into the Zulu Ranks. Seriously you have captured the event perfectly even down to the disbelieve on the Zulu warriors faces. And Younghusband with sword in had just how the history books say it happen. You certainly got a gift there. !!! I certaily hope there is more to come.. |

| That will do nicely. Got to be the first ever. I have never until now seen an image of Younghusbands Charge into the mass ranks of the Zulus. Bloody well-done Mons14. Pity we didn’t have this available on the 132nd Anniversary of the Battle. |

| Thank you so much for all your kind comments - they are all so great to read, it means a lot coming from this group.
I have so many images in my head brought from things I've read about the battle over the years and have always wanted to put them down on paper. This drawing was a big step for me as it was my first related to the battle of Isandlwana - and now having done this one I've got others that I really want to see done.....The next one up is Pope's last stand; the image is a savage one: Charile Pope and Goodwin-Austin fighting back to back against overwhelming numbers of Zulus until killed.
I have decided to make these prints available to purchase for 25 GBP on ebay - my user name is mons14 (same as on here)
This may sound strange, but I felt it was a very important image to create and and an event that should be remembered. I'm not sure if I'll sell many of these, but its been rewarding to know that some have at least seen it.
Thank you again, one and all for your posts,

| I wanted to add my congratulations Mons14 - that sketch sends tingles down the spine, it captures the atmosphere wonderfully. I have seen a few artworks now on this subject, all very good, lovely bright colours, technically detailed etc. In your picture however Mons14, it is haunting, I feel like I am there ?!?!? Do consider putting a book of your sketches together - I bet they would sell like hotcakes.
Very well done indeed!

| Thanks again so much for the posts it really really makes it worth doing and so complimented to read your kind words. Springbok - yes I will definately be using Mike Snooks version of the Popes last stand....in fact I should say that it was Snooks book that really inspired me to begin this quest. Tasker - yes there was an eclipse of the sun towards the end of the battle. I decided to add it to my Younghusband illustration as it also happened towards the end of the day, and I've never seen it pirctured in any image. Thanks again guys for looking. Here's the ebay link... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Are the maps associated with TMFH document, not the most accurate to go by concerning Isandlwana. |
