| Does anyone know how many officers took part in the 1st invasion into Zululand? The reason I'm asking, I'm trying to find out how many officers went with Lord Chelmsford when he left Isandlwana to chase the Zulu. |

| hi littlehand
with regard to officers in the first invasion ,do you mean all the columns officers , or just the officers in number 3 column, which chelmsford accompanied , under the command of GLYNN.

| My Apologies 90th. My question is how many officers accompanied Chelmsford after he left Isandlwana to find the Zulus. |

| hi littlehand.
went through what i have , all i could find was that chelmsford left with his headquarters staff to meet up and support DARTNELL and LONSDALE. i hope pete (admin) or s.d. can find something. i know julien whybra has a book about ISANDLWANA survivors , but it may only focus on those that were unlucky enough to have been left behind at 4.30 am on that fateful day .
cheers 90th. |

| I’m not sure which officers advanced to the Mangeni Falls with Chelmsford. You could try the following reference books Julian Whybra (England’s Sons) Or the Noble 24th by Norman Holme. There is also they Fell like stones, but there are lots of discrepancies. So I would stick with the others.
