PostSubject: Re: Total loss of Officers Killed in the Zulu War   Total loss of Officers Killed in the Zulu War EmptySat Dec 24, 2011 7:47 pm

Hi Littlehand,

Thanks for this, one thing though, Lt. Patterson of the barkley rangers, did he die in the AZW?

I have a Barkly rangers, no record beyond 1878.
There was a unit by the name of barkly east mounted rifles raised in 1879, perhaps this is it?

I'm at a loss on this, it seems many of the NNC officers or men attached to the colonial auxilliaries may have been noted on KIA rolls with their previous units, that being all that was available recordwise with the loss of records at isandlwana.

Cheers

Matt

Ps. what say we make a point of tracing this chap?
