| Some of you may have seen this on the other site. It is stirring stuff and makes the hackles rise. Turn the volume up and enjoy. Well done Bill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4Dk4XB5baM

| Copy the coordinates from the video, paste them into Google maps and see where Bill was when it was filmed. Quite a long way from Brecon!

| The regiment was not called the 24th foot in c1745, as it would have been known by its Colonels name. |

| You ask, your told, but you constantly fail to understand. As I said in the other thread, your repetitive in your questions and answers. Your limited to the Welsh, the 24th, and the need for Durnford to assist LC. |

| I'm like Durnford. I have an independant command. And I don't obey orders. |

| Hi all
I don't want to rain on Martin's parade, but I'm sure the experts will have noticed that I'm NOT dressed as a Private in the 24th Regiment of Foot, but actually of the 36th Regiment of Foot !!!
Merry Xmas

| Hi all
And one more fact - it's NOT the uniform of 1745, but of 1751 !!!!
And a Happy New Year !

A second PS - Steve was correct about the co-ordinates. I t was filmed on one of the Orkney Islands (just up the road from Brecon !!).

| Come on CTSG. Perhaps Miss Shifter, moved his book on the 36th Regiment of Foot. Still if Bill ever decides to do a video on the 24th, then Martin will be correct. |

| No, the history lesson still stands.
It was the false information provided in the post by Kenny that was wrong, ie; (c1745 and 24th foot), and it is therefor that information that needs to be amended and not mine.
Nice try though Bill. |

| Hi Bill
Seasons greetings.
Am I right in thinking that both the 36th and the 24th had green facings in 1751? How would they have looked different?
Did you bag any grouse in the process?

| Chard, I couldn't get the short vid into full screen, and had to watch it in the small size, and my eyes are not what they used to be, and I could not find my magnifier. |

| Hi Steve
To identify regiments in the 1750s, you would initially look at the facing colour. As you say, quite a few regiments had the same facing colour. The second place you look is at the pattern within the lace - this can either be a straight line (as with the 36th), a double line, zig-zags, or swirls, etc, etc. There are about a hundred regiments and each is identified in the "Cloathing Book) which was a book compiled with coloured drawings of each regiment.
Hope this helps.
