Strangely enough I saw that on a book shelf along with the catalogue from the David Smith Collection but R700 was a bit steep for me. ( Still counting the costs for going overboard at the last Auction)

I think that this might have been a book produced to coincide with the 'Treasures of the Zulu Kings' exhibition mounted by Durban's Local History Museum. Some of the 'treasures' came from the museum in Ulundi, Zululand. Ironically, the exhibition was boycotted by the Durban Council's ruling party (the African National Congress), who regarded 'Zulu culture' as being the preserve of the Inkatha Freedom Party. Now that South African has a Zulu President, such a boycott would be unlikely.

Hi Gary.

The book is sold mate, but not to worry, there might be another one crops up either on ebay, ABE or amazon, so there might be a chance again at some time.

BTW, I heard the jungle drums saying that our old mate Les might be back with us soon, I wonder if he has got a spare copy of zulu trousers, er, I mean treasures. Salute

Pete was also very kind and i will strive not to let him down...
i issued a sincere apology to a prominent member hoping that
he understands my comments were born out of frustration and
did not reflect in anyway the high esteem i hold for him. and that
also goes for Mr Brett Hendey who i hope will see the remarks
that offended him were never meant to be personal in any way
and i regret making them. xhosa

Bonjour Les,

Sorry, I certainly misspoke No

Personally, I appreciated your "craziness" (see no offense)  and "your freedom of expression" on this forum.
BUT, I hated your violent and unacceptable attack against a prominent member of this forum who is examplary, a model for most of us.
However, I note your apologies to this member and Brett.

Cheers

Frédéric

I have seen them Frank! This is going to be a disastrous end to the year for South Africa. On the positive side, overseas bidders on local auctions, and visitors to the battlefields, will be delighted by our government's stupidity.

Well that's good to know given the craziness in the UK auction houses for Zulu SAGS. Perhaps you guys would be good enough to flag the local auctions - so we can help with the economy by spending there!!
