According to a local television news station, the Battle of Isandlwana was celebrated yesterday in grand style. The Zulu King was the guest of honour, and a huge marquee had been erected to accommodate guests, who, amongst others, included a King from Ghana. The well-practised re-enactment of the battle took place.

Frank I came across the report by chance, so I am not sure of the channel. Perhaps the non-SABC one? Regards Brett

Thanks Brett This is the reason that the King wants to build at iSandlwana, for the annual celebrations. Incidently the development has been approved by the EAB. I believe that fund raising has commenced. The rumour is that Jacob Zuma is turning Nkandla into a AirB&B to raise the cash.

Perhaps Isandlwana will become a centre for celebrating the fall of all British rule in Africa! The King from Ghana mentioned in the report may have been the first of many such representatives to come in the future!
