Natal Witness 31st January 1880

Natal Witness 3rd February 1880
A correspondant kindly calls attention to an ommission from the slight tribute which appeared in our columns on Saturday, to this widely and deservedly esteemed gentleman. When the records of the 24th Reg. were lost at Isandhlwana Major Mahoney was specially deputed to go up and put the accounts straight. He executed his mission to the very great satisfaction of the miitary authorities.
