The most feared Colonial force

Was there any particular colonial force during the Zulu War the Zulu’s feared most? To a point where they would rather run than fight.
And its there any documention with a Zulu view to this force . if there was one.

hi littlehand.
I have never read anywhere of a colonial force putting the wind up the zulu"s , Its more to the
point I think , The zulu"s werent scared of anyone , I seem to remember reading that the zulu"s
werent keen on facing mounted troops , dont know where I read it !. If I remember rightly It may
have come from " LUCKY ESSEX " one of the 5 officers that survived Isandlwana.

I did read somewhere the Zulu was not be happy about engaging the NMP

I think lancers would be a frightening proposition for anyone on foot .
